President Obama called him "the most beloved violinist of our time" in awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015. A cultural icon, the irrepressible Itzhak Perlman returns to Verizon Hall to conduct and solo with The Philadelphia Orchestra. He brings his "brilliant technique and juicy sound" (The New York Times) to Bach's exquisite First Violin Concerto before leading the ensemble in two symphonic masterpieces: Dvorák's bucolic Eighth Symphony and Mozart's intoxicating "Haffner" Symphony, composed amidst a furious frenzy of activity and calling for a finale played "as fast as possible"!
