Temple University Symphony Orchestra and Combined Choirs


The three-time Grammy nominated Temple University Symphony Orchestra is renowned for its performance of both traditional symphonies and modern masterpieces. Under the direction of Andreas Delfs, the orchestra will perform a World Premiere Commission by Daniel Schnyder, and works by Blacher and Marquez. The orchestra is joined Temple University's esteemed choirs to perform two compositions by Verdi. The evening will also include the presentation of the 2017 Boyer College Tribute Award to this year's honoree, soon to be announced. Past recipients of the Boyer Tribute Award include Larry Magid, Eric Owens, Carole Haas Gravagno, Kenneth Gamble, The Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Alan Abel, Vera Wilson, Bill McGlaughlin, Al and Gabrielle Rinaldi, Charles Dutoit, the Theodore Presser Foundation, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Michael Greene, Luis Biava, Janet Yamron and Sonya Garfinkle.

This performance is presented by Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance - a leader in preparing students for careers as performers, educators, composers and researchers.
