Art in Protest

In partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Mural Arts Program presents The Art of the Protest - a series of panels and workshops encouraging people to harness their creative freedom of expression to make powerful statements that ignite social change through support of local, national, and global causes. This series challenges people and artists to delve deeper into how art can activate a movement.

Join us for a panel and discussion featuring artists and advocates who have been active participants in the current political climate. Artists Olek, Michelle Angela Ortiz, and Liza Goodell from Spiral Q will share their thoughts and experiences on how art plays a role in protest. Panel will be moderated by Drexel professor Julie Hawkins and the event will be co-hosted by Conrad Benner of Streets Dept and Young Involved Philadelphia.

Cash bar on site!

The sign workshops are held in SEI Innovation Studio, and the panel will be held in Hamilton Garden. Seating in the SEI Innovation Studio is limited to 150 so be sure to secure your tickets in advance!
